Day 9 gave us the biggest shock of the tournament so far as Costa Rica beat Italy and qualified for the last 16, an incredible feat when you consider they were drawn into a group containing England, Italy and Uruguay. Costa Rica is the sort of World Cup dream story which nobody was predicting and that is what makes this competition so special, just when you think you know what is happening something like this turns around and slaps you in the face.
The games for day 10 are Argentina v Iran, Germany v Ghana and Bosnia v Nigeria.
Argentina to win -2 21/20
The odds for this game are absolutely atrocious. Argentina will undoubtedly win and to be honest it could be by any margin possible, but Iran are good defensively. With that in mind taking -2 is a fairly safe bet.
Germany to win Both teams to score 13/8
Germany will win the match but the odds for Germany to win are fairly poor, with that in mind and when you consider that there have been lots of goals in this World Cup 13/8 is a good price for the Germany win and both teams to score.
Nigeria to win Both teams to score 15/2
I think this is a tighter match than the bookies have it, with that in mind I think that we will see both teams score, so the question is what will the result be? I actually wouldn’t be shocked if this was a draw because it would be a good result for Bosnia, whereas Nigeria needs to win. It is because of that and that I think Bosnia may crumble under the pressure that I think Nigeria are a good shout.
Nigeria-Bosnia Over 2.5 goals 1/1
I think there will be goals so at evens over 2.5 goals is a good price, especially when you consider that Nigeria can’t defend and Bosnia are questionable at times as well.
There are two games which are very one sided and all the value is found in the Bosnia Nigeria match, personally I think it could go in any direction and is a very hard one to call, whereas the other two are pretty straightforward. This has been a World Cup of shocking results though, who knows maybe we’ll get another one on Day 10 with Iran toppling Argentina…I doubt it.
