The semis are here and if you wanted to know how close this World Cup is then you need look no further than the bookies odds for outright winner which sees Argentina, Germany, Brazil and Holland sit at 5/2, 13/5, 13/5 and 7/2 respectively; it is incredibly tight and is anyone’s game.
The only match on Day 22 is Brazil v Germany.
I can’t see anything happening but a Germany win, they are built perfectly to beat Brazil (disciplined and clinical) and Brazil are without their two best players; it’s a bit of a gift.
Goals Over 2.5 7/5
I think that we will see goals because Brazil aren’t good enough defensively to not concede at least two to Germany, and I think there will be more.
Thomas Muller 11/2
Muller is due a goal and have I said that Brazil can’t defend yet? You get the picture, of the Germans he is the most likely to score and will almost certainly play up front on his own, so 11/2 is pretty tasty.
Germany 3-0 Brazil 28/1
It’s a bit of a punt but I think that we may finally see the dismantling of Brazil tonight. I don’t personally see Brazil scoring and I see Germany getting a fairly early goal, this will force Brazil’s limp attack to come out and attack and we all know they can’t really defend so I think it could be quite brutal viewing for the Brazilians.
Thomas Muller Golden Ball 12/1
If Germany are to go on and win the World Cup (like I think they will) then it is likely that he will pick up the Golden Ball after being Germany’s best attacking player, so 12/1 is pretty tasty.
So there you have it the betting tips for the first semi-final of the World Cup, I clearly think that Germany are going to win and win comfortably, but to negate that only 1/12 knockout matches have actually been one sided (Colombia-Uruguay). I would be absolutely shocked if Germany don’t progress and anyone that knows something about football would agree.
